Talking to the media on Wednesday, Telangana State Electrical Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Sriranga Rao said that the power toll hike follows 5 years according to the recommendations of the Telangana state power distribution firms (Discoms).

Rao stated the commission has approved Rs 14,237 crore against Rs 16,000 crore income space shown by the record. The chairman claimed that the remainder of the amount is an ARR (Aggregate Income Requirement) proposition, which stands at 38.88 per cent. He also said that of Rs 53,000 crore ARR suggested, they have accepted Rs 4,8708 crore.
