Coal scarcity causing power crisis in 12 states: Maharashtra power minister
Maharashtra Energy Priest Nitin Raut on Tuesday claimed 12 states are facing electricity issues due to shortage of coal which his department was working to minimize the deficiency below with micro-level planning.Talking to press reporters right here, Raut stated there was no load-shedding in Maharashtra for the past 5 to six days as a result of this micro-level preparation and the power deficiency stood at 15 per cent.He stated state-run Mahagenco has set a target to produce 8000 MW power, while thermal nuclear power plant in the seaside region operate imported coal, the restriction on the import of which was lately lifted by the Centre.”The state government has provided tenders to import one lakh metric tonnes of coal.
